Assignment #10 introduction to vectors graphics
Vector graphics are images that are generated with mathematical equations. Don't worry, you don't have to be a math wiz to create vector graphics. All you need to know for now is that vector graphics are different than pixel based graphics. There are several advantages to using vector graphics. The most important are the fact the fact than you can enlarge the images you create without losing definition and that it allows you to create sharper and smother images.

For this assignment, your goal is to familiarize yourself with the features of the VG software, in this case a program called INKSCAPE.

In graphic design, we use repetition to facilitate the reading or viewing of a document. For instance, in a website you would put the navigation bar in the same position on every page, so the viewer doesn't have to look for them. In a print document, the main elements such as heading, sub headings, and page numbers are always placed and formatted the same way You can find another example on this very page where the title, the purpose, and the tasks are laid out the same way for every assignment.

Alignment makes any document look more organized and also helps the viewers to make senses of the information. Alignment is often refereed to as an invisible line that connects elements. - Select a sport and decide how you want you team to look, then chose a colour scheme to help you achieve that goal. For the time being, use geometric shape(s) for the team crest and concentrate on the colour scheme.
- Download and print the PDF of the jersey template. (at the bottom of this article)
- Use pencil crayons to create 6 different colours scheme for the front of your jersey.
- In groups of 4, show your creations, without telling what you wanted to accomplish with your designs, and get reaction/comments from the group members.
- Revise your scheme and create 3 more, this time for the front and back of the jersey.
- Discuss you three scheme with a different group.
- Revise your schemes and create your final prototype.
- Either present your final drawing to the class or write a paragraph to explain the purpose of the colours you have selected.
